Climbing Coaching
If you aspire to climb harder - and you current grade is below f7c or V7 - these sessions are set to make a big impact on the time it takes to realise your goals.
I'll use advanced movement knowledge to swiftly identify your weaknesses,
then arm you with simple solutions and a clear vision of how to make great
gains in your climbing performance. All by fine tuning your technique, rather
than increasing your fitness.
Coaching can be combined with crag skills tuition to ensure your
newfound prowess is confidently backed up by safe and up-to-date climbing
practice.
All courses are run at Kendal Climbing Wall, prices do not include wall entry:
Under 18? All youth coaching is now £15 per hour one-to-one.
McAffie and Kettle's Big Day In
October 6th 2012
One day course 10am-4pm
£85 per head maximum 6 places, minimum 3
New for 2012, Cumbrian legend James McAffie (E8 onsight, 9a redpoint)
joins me to provide an intensive one day course covering efficient technique,
tactics (routes and bouldering) and safe training. Expect to fast forward your
grades and leave with a sharp focus on how to maximise your potential
ability. A seriously cost effective way to raise your game!
More dates available on request.
Movement M.O.T
One-to-one £50.00
One-to-two £60.00
1x 2 hour session
A two hour intensive breakdown of your current climbing technique. Using a
wide variety of movement exercises I'll thoroughly review your climbing style,
flag up any areas of weakness and give you simple drills to immediately begin
plugging the gaps in your movement repertoire.
Expect to be challenged
mentally (rather than physically) as you try all those
moves you've been subconciously avoiding! The outcome will be a more
'movement aware' you, with clear ideas about what constitutes
'good technique', and a plan of how to build on your climbing technique to
maximise your potential.
Technical Master
One-to-one £140.00
One-to-two £160.00
3 x 2 hour sessions
We'll cover everything from slabs to roofs, from movement centres to bimanual
transfer. In three 2 hour coaching sessions I'll visit every part of your movement
style and use the fine-toothed comb of all my coaching experience to make you
as efficient as possible on the rock.
How long you leave between sessions is
your choice but for greatest benefit
I
recommend you allow 2 weeks to practice and improve between each one.
Expect to see a significant rise in your climbing ability (with no increase in
fitness required), and your climbing technique should continue steadily
improving for months afterwards. You'll also finish with a comprehensive
knowledge of your climbing style plus the skills required to self-assess your
technique, and then remedy any movement problems or bad habits you
may have picked up.
